Quick Command and Murder Ball

Here you may learn how to use quick command for effectively fighting in a murder ball

 

When configured correctly the quick command can help you fight in a murder ball or killing barbarians. The quick command changes the way you move your troops. Instead of click and drag or select a target and select your attack troop you simply click on the screen and your troops will move to that position. You can even select what type of target your troops will attack! No more accidentally hitting a flag while have some fun killing barbarians.

The Setup

In the settings menu we simply turn on quick commands.

Then when we return to the strategic view you will see the quick command bottom left of your display.

If you click on the quick command the filter list will appear.
Then you simply tick the items you want to attack. For the ruins fights you might want to only select Aligned Troops but be careful with that only selected you won't be able to enter flags or resource nodes and if you select those as well you might start farming in the middle of the battle. This mode takes a little to get used to. One important thing to remember is you cant select your troop and get the pop up to retreat to your city. With this in mind always find a spot you can click on to escape.

THE QUICK COMMAND SELECTOR EFFECTS EVERYTHING YOU CAN SELECT EVEN WHEN TURNED OFF
So if you can't select a resource node or reinforce a city this will be the cause!

Quick Command in Action

Here is an example of Quick Command

  1. Open quick command and select target types
  2. Select march (dotted lines around march)
  3. Turn on quick command
  4. Click to where you want to go or on what you want to attack

Murder Balls and Quick Command

Hopefully you now understand the basics Quick Command is great for battles and barbarians.

Murder Ball

Stay in the ball. Use quick command to march to the ball by clicking at points along your march path it is not advisable to click directly on the destination because you might march to a bad place. 
 

Once you are in the ball

  1. When the ball attacks click on your target (it is helpful to attack a march that someone else is attacking)
  2. As soon as you are getting attacked (turn on screen flicker) click back in the murder ball or behind it
  3. Repeat this sequence

 Notes

Don't worry about killing the enemy we just want to hit and run. This will slowly wear them down. If our ball is dominant and pushing forward you can let your attacks last longer
